August 1 to October 20: 54 Google clicks in 2025, 2,900 in 2026

The article pages of one local business whose search work we do, as its own Search Console reports them.

The business

A local business that takes bookings online and has a busy season and a quiet season. We handle its search work. It is not an eye care practice, and it is not in health care. We don't publish its name, and both screenshots are cropped so the site can't be traced. Optometry is new for us; this is the clearest before-and-after we have.

Before

Between 2022 and 2025 the site published 22 articles. From August 2025 to the end of February 2026, Google search sent those pages 111 clicks.

The work

Starting in February 2026, articles went up every month. Each one targets a search that people nearby already make, with the place and the occasion in its title. By October 20 there were about 170 new ones. That many pages suited this business; a practice needs far fewer, as the last section explains.

The result

Comparing the same dates a year apart, August 1 to October 20, Google search sent the article pages 54 clicks in 2025 and 2,900 in 2026. Across March 1 to October 20, 2026, the same pages had 13,400 clicks and 1.11 million impressions.

Google Search Console cards for the article pages: 2.9K total clicks and 262K impressions from August 1 to October 20, 2026, against 54 clicks and 161K impressions for the same dates in 2025.

Google Search Console daily chart for the article pages, July 31, 2025 to October 20, 2026: 13.5K total clicks and 1.38M impressions. Clicks stay near zero until March 2026, rise to peaks of about 200 a day between April and early July, then settle around 30 to 60 a day.
The same filter across all 16 months Search Console keeps, July 31, 2025 to October 20, 2026. Clicks are the blue line and impressions the purple one. Impressions on the older articles dropped away around New Year, before any new articles went up; those older pages are still live and unchanged since 2023 and 2024. The "1" is Google's own note of a search update on April 21, 2026. The site name is cropped out. Open the screenshot at full width.

Limits

What the screenshots leave out

A click is a visit from Google, not a customer, and we don't publish this business's bookings or revenue. Most of the tall stretch from April to early July is holiday articles, which climb before each holiday and drop after it. A result at one business doesn't predict a result at yours.

What it means for an optometry practice

A practice needs far fewer pages: one for each kind of visit you want more of, each approved by your optometrist before it goes up. The order of the work doesn't change: learn what people near you already search for, write the page that answers it, then check Google's own data to see whether it is being found.
